More about Jeff:

Jeff Slevin has been an avid fisherman since a child, mainly fishing for warm water species.  In 2013, when he and his family moved to England for two years, he started to focus on trout.  Since returning and living in Pittsburgh, PA, he has considered central Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and western Maryland his “home” streams.

Since January 2023, he has been traveling the country with his wife in an Airstream travel trailer in his pursuit of catching a trout in all 50 states, along with visiting the high point of each state.  During that time, Jeff has caught a trout in 39 states and 3 Canadian provinces while fishing 77 different streams and rivers.  He has been successful on 75 of those 77 waters, i.e. only been skunked twice the first time he fished them, and his story is that there were extenuating circumstances in both instances.

As of January, 2026, he and his wife have come off the road for 8 months, residing in Alexandria, VA as their daughter is getting married this summer and his wife needs a bit of “break.”  To keep himself “busy,” he is presenting at various TU chapter meetings across the mid-Atlantic and southeast.  In late summer, they will hit the road again to finish up.

Jeff is happy to admit that there are far better fishermen than himself, yet he does feel that he has developed a pretty good system and process for approaching new waters.  Please join us as Jeff presents Techniques and Tactical Approaches to Fishing New Trout Waters.

Topics will include:

• Pre-trip planning and research

• Approaching the water upon arrival

• Adapting once on the water

• Rigs and Setups

• Confidence Flies
